やまとが実際に核を保持しているかいないかは、

本当の所は誰も分からないのです。

海江田以外は・・・・。

No one knows if  the Yamato really has nuclear weapons.

Except Kaieda. ・・・・

 

海上ではやまとをめぐって、両国間でバチバチの議論が繰り広げられている間、

当の本人は深海でのんびりと・・・・・。

海江田「やはり同盟国にするなら日本が良い。」

At sea, there was a heated debate between the two countries over the Yamato.

Kaieda murmured idly in the deep sea.

Kaieda: “I still prefer Japan as an ally.”

 

こうなる事を見越していたような言葉をつぶやきました。

しかし、日本にとって核を保持している可能性のある、

大和国と同盟を結ぶのは、非核三原則に反するものではないか？

記者会見で竹上総理はそのような質問を受けます。

竹上総理「では、もし、やまとが核を持っていたとして、

日本人としてあなたならどうしますか？

What would you do as a Japanese?

人が入るとこうなる　臨場感がありますね

核を保持しながら、海を自由に行き来する潜水艦を、野放しにするのですか？

しかも同じ日本人の載っている船ですよ。」

Would you allow a submarine to freely

come and go in the sea while retaining nuclear weapons?

And with Japanese people on board?”

 

日本さえ無事なら、核が世界のどこかで使われても良いのか？

その行為を日本人にさせても良いのか？

竹上は日本国民にそう訴えかけたのです。

この問いかけは重いですね。

As long as Japan is safe,

is it okay if nuclear weapons are used somewhere else in the world?

Is it OK to let the Japanese people commit that act?

He appealed to the Japanese people.

That is very heavy.
